Ima Miah has been the CEO of the Asian Resource Centre of Croydon since 2015. Within the first year of her appointment the charity had more than doubled its income and by the 2nd year, the organisation grew 6 fold. Since then the charity has gone from strength to strength with over 10,000 interventions a year.
As a Local infrastructure and service delivery charity. ARCC exists to give support to local voluntary and community groups, foster contacts between them and provide them with a voice.
Ima’s vision for the sector is to create a vibrant and sustainable voluntary and community sector where Equality, Empathy, Excellence and Empowerment is at the heart of decision making and service delivery.
Ima’s passionate about influencing policy through getting minority voices heard and supporting people who are at the margins of society. She has worked in the public, community and voluntary sector for over 15 years and prides herself in bringing a fresh and innovative approach to community leadership.
